Rabbits. Plinky-ty-plink-y-plink.

Actually, you don't need to carry a bow to order the henchies to gang up on a specific target. You just need to stand close enough to the target (keeping it out of your aggro circle) and "call" without attacking.

It used to be CTRL-SHIFT-SPACE prior to one of the recent updates. Recently they added a "suppress action" key binding which has undone this key combo. If you bind the suppress to the SHIFT key, you can use this again.

I hope they fix that gyla bug soon, its one of the more unique missions thats been turned into another mob fest because of people exploiting it.

honestly take all ranged type hench (archers, blood, vile, illusion, etc... type henchies and carry a longbow or flatbow. my war got through the entire game with hench doign that. so did my sin before i deleted it.

henchies unfortunately > 90% of pugs. now if only i could get hench for fow or uw id be fine.

True. VS Is MUCH easier with 2 henchy teams. That's like 15 henchys following your call. + 3-4 healers, (Mhenlo, a rt a healer hench and then the other teams).

I've never done VS with anything but Henchys, with the exeption of a guild group.

However, I found that VS is (at least for the local party) much easier if you can get two parties of full henchies (i.e. no real person on the other side). I attempted the mission with my canthan Rt with full henchies on both sides and the mission could almost be a breeze. We cut through the first big battle like a light-saber through butter -- no casualties, no 50% below health and I suspect neither Togo nor Mhenlo took even a single hit.

We were also doing pretty well in the second big battle, until an Afflicted Ranger maimed me with the friggin Marauder's Shot. I had to log off because I did not want to lose my Survivor track.

Now, either they eased down on the diff level of this mission or there is something to be learned about the quality of henchies vs PUGs.

If I observed correctly, other group of henchies do not follow your calls but do their own thing. They were actually more efficient than my own henchies, since I was too busy worrying that an Afflicted Assassin would sneak up and bite me in my surviving ass so I was forgetting to call targets sometimes.

Am I correct in guessing you also had a alles-hench experience as a foreigner? If so, this could be our secret to the VS. Don't tell anyone and we'll sell it in Kaineng for 100K+ectos.

almost everything in prophecies and factions is doable with henchmen, if you don't mind not getting all the bonus objectives/master ratings. the one exception being shiro, and even he might be doable if you are one of the classes who get a high-damage spell from kuuna.

vizunah/unwaking waters is actually *easier* with henchmen on the other side, because if there is no controlling human there, they will generally follow you and attack closest targets. they won't follow calls, but just having the added firepower where you want it is usually enough.

Problem with saying just grab a pug and play is it's freaking hard for certain classes to get picked up.

Monks by a long long way have it the best.
Mesmers and assassins have it hard as the average PUG will rate you by their own standards and wont have used either class to its fullest.

you can get Masters with all henchies in some missions

I did the Boreas Seabed mission in 15minutes with henchies and got Masters credit

Someone mentioned that Henchies are not infused
- Henchies were updated to be infused many months ago

Well... Can't & wont, as I can't hench them. Also, if what I've heard about them is true (e.g. that you MUST use necrotic traversal & rebirth to get past some hinders) then it doesn't sound like missions I want to do at all.

Anyway, I've henched my way through Cantha to Raisu Palace, where I get bored out of my skull and can't motivate myself to continue*, but I know other people who've henched all the missions, so it is possible. Not necessarily easy, but possible.

All missions in Prophecies are easily henchable. Actually many are easier with henches than with humans. Getting all the bonuses with henches is a bit trickier, but possible, without exploiting/trickery (I'm Protector of Tyria).

* I really hate Raisu Palace mission - the only difficulty is that the mission is tightly timed, and the sheer cheese of that just annoys the hell out of me. I used to think Vizunah Square was the worst mission in all of GW**, because it randomly pairs you up with some yahoo***, but I found that if I play at night the second team is usually a hench team, so now I say Raisu Palace is the worst.

** Best mission in all of GW is Thunderhead Keep. It's challenging and battlefield tactics, notably positioning and target selection, are vital; you can't just target closest and cycle skills.

*** No, not all random players are yahoos, some of them are rock-solid. Getting a yahoo in the opposite team in Vizunah Square is a kiss of death, though.

Did it with my W/- with henchies on the first try... I've tried it again a couple of times later on and now somehow I just can't do it again.

Oh he's possible alright.
Certainly not a recommended way to get it done. PUGs in that case are way more likely to succeed.

Henchies ARE infused in all missions after Iron Mines. In the Iron Mines mission, they become infused when you hand the essence to the Seer. Invalid argument.

Finally mustered bloody-mindedness to do Raisu Palace (Mark of Pain is the key!) and then Shiro himself wasn't too hard to hench:

The key was to 1) keep him blinded (had to switch to rit secondary to have constant Shadowsong) and 2) kill the summoned constructs immediately they showed up.

Hey nice job on shiro Numa =] yeah I used to think that Vizuna was hench only until I took my ranger through and actually had a forever dead necro on the other side ride my coattails all the way through the mission.. barrage totally owns in that mission
